Note to Ignorant Americans:
The US and its allies have supported ISIS since at least 2012, as they were the main force fighting against the government of Bashar al Assad in Syria. The US has politically supported these terrorists and has done nothing to thwart their activities. Quite the opposite, they have sent arms and “non-lethal aid” directly, trained fighters in Jordan and encouraged their regional allies to support these terrorists directly.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and others have directly aided ISIS. These are top US Middle East allies. This is a coordinated effort to surround Syria, and the borders of Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been kept open to allow these terror brigades to bring arms back and forth across, giving them safe haven and arming them inside Syria.
The US knows this is happening. The US public is kept in the dark. It is the strategy of the US to encourage radical Sunni militias, as it did in the 1980s in Afghanistan — a proven, successful strategy — in the “Jihad” against the Soviet Union. This is not new, but Americans are woefully ignorant of their own history and machinations around the world.
This turn toward terror militias traces back to the 2007 Seymour Hersh expose in The New Yorker: The Redirection.
None of these events is unexpected. None are contrary to US interests. The “Islamic State” has succeeded in breaking up Iraq, so that it will not be a strong nation with a strong military in the future. It has led to the fall of Maliki, the Iran-friendly Shi’ite president who kicked the US military out of Iraq. The people of the region are unimportant to US imperialists. Only the control of gas and oil matters. That should be obvious by now. The Sunni Islamic State has pledged to wipe out all Shi’ites and that includes the entire nation of Iran. Do the math.
These terror brigades would simply not exist without US allies funding and arming them.
