The belligerent psychopaths are in charge. The US and its junior partners continue to ramp up calls for war against China and Russia. This blatant insanity passes without pushback from brain-dead, brainwashed populations.

Many of you have faulted me for voting against Trump because he “didn’t start any wars.” Putting aside the recent riot in our Capitol, consider the new meaning of “war” in this hybrid-cyber age. Jeremy Kuzmarov of Covert Action Magazine (founded by Ellen Ray and Bill Schapp, who published Jim Garrison’s last book) reminds us below of the extremely hostile foreign actions taken by Trump on behalf of our country. For those who don’t care to read this article before forming an opinion, here’s a brief synopsis:

1. He broke the Iran Treaty and withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord.
2. He withdrew from the INF Treaty with Russia and will not renew the Start Treaty, which expires next month.
3. He accelerated the ‘war,’ hybrid and cyber, on China and Russia through sanctions, trade tariffs, and threatening military actions on their borders. He’s also covertly promoted regime change in Belarus on the border of Russia. He sent packages of lethal arms to Taiwan, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and others — $55 billion in weapons sales, a new record. He also unfroze military aid to a tyrannical Egypt and bombed Syria, winning bipartisan praise from a warhawk media and Congress.
4. He significantly hiked our military budget (favoring a major increase in nuclear weaponry). He expanded our endless drone war and killed hundreds of civilians, and dropped the “Gravity Bomb,” “the mother of all bombs” on Afghanistan. He created a “Space Force” to militarize what’s left of this universe as we know it, and he’s fetishized several times his worship of our military muscle with absurd descriptions such as “big,” “glorious,” and “beautiful.”
5. Israel — where can I start? He made it abundantly clear to the world that the United States is totally one-sided in favor of Israel’s occupation of Palestine. Has ended forever the fiction of America as a neutral force in the Middle East.
6. He avidly sought regime change in Iran and illegally murdered a high Government official, General Soleimani, by drone in Iraq — a national hero to Iranians.
7. He vetoed Congress on any end to US involvement supporting Saudi Arabia in its brutal war on Yemen.
8. He supported right-wing coups in Bolivia and Venezuela and continues a dirty covert war against Venezuela’s sovereignty, won through elections far more honest than their corrupt opponents propped up by the US.
9. He restored the worst of our malignant policy against Cuba to please Rubio and his Cuban exiles in Florida.
10. Besides continuing our illegal surveillance program (domestic and foreign) and breaking all the rules of a free press, common sense, and decency, he’s prosecuted Julian Assange to a point of absurdity, although he’s not even an American citizen. At the same time, he outrageously pardoned several war criminals found guilty in court-martials by our military; some of these crimes, ironically, were revealed by Assange’s journalism.
11. Appointing Pompeo as Secretary of State and John Bolton as his National Security Adviser has to be seen as a degraded nod to the crackpot neoconservatives of our Government, which, like moths in a closet, never seem to go away, even after being discredited for their lies during the Second Iraq War. Both men are disgusting symbols of the worst part of America, consistently threatening and bullying foreign countries.
12. On the positive side, yes, he did question NATO, which many believe has outgrown its purpose. The only reason it’s given such giant budgets is enabled by their over-hyped warnings of Russian threats. He’s also pushed for withdrawing troops from various countries and made efforts at a lasting peace with North Korea, but did not accomplish his goals.
13. What bodes ill for our country is that the Democrats generally supported these actions and condemned any attempts to withdraw from Syria. So much for America’s bipartisan relationship with the world. This is a disastrous cul-de-sac, leading us to vast expenditure and further growth of our arms industry. It’s the wrong course, a state of strategic tension that abolishes the possibility of a progressive partnership with Russia and China on things such as climate change and nuclear weapons. On the world stage, America, like Trump, has become an outlaw nation.
14. Further to this bipartisan attitude, on January 6, in the shadow of the riot in D.C., an equally sinister event was unfolding, minimally reported to the American public. Biden appointed neocon warrior queen Victoria Nuland as #3 in the State Department, a very important post with significant powers. The “Beast” of Ukraine, Libya, and the Steele Dossier, Nuland will go to any lengths to destroy Russian sovereignty. With her steely determination, she — a monster in waiting — now has the ability to lead us towards an unnecessary nuclear conflict, which will dwarf all the other problems on this page.
    Be warned, be alert, and despite the odds, I wish you all a fulfilling happy/sad New Year in 2021.
