Syria – US Moves To Protect Al-Qaeda And ISIS in Daraa

The United States is concerned by reports of an impending Assad regime operation in southwest Syria within the boundaries of the de-escalation zone negotiated between the United States, Jordan, and the Russian Federation last year and reaffirmed between Presidents Trump and Putin in Da Nang, Vietnam in November. The United States remains committed to maintaining the stability of the southwest de-escalation zone and to the ceasefire underpinning it. We also caution the Syrian regime against any actions that risk broadening the conflict or jeopardize the ceasefire. As a guarantor of this de-escalation area with Russia and Jordan, the United States will take firm and appropriate measures in response to Assad regime violations.

PS.

There’s no such thing as a “de-escalation zone.” It does not exist. This is a fiction created in the Pentagon to give their illegal invasion of the sovereign territory of Syria a veil of legitimacy. It has no legal basis whatsoever.

While the public is ignorant and stupid, the CIA is not. They knew what they were doing, and what they were doing was funneling arms directly to the terrorists we have declared war on after 9/11.

Report from March, 2017:

July 2016 report by Amnesty Internationalcondemned both Nour al-Din al-Zinki and Ahrar al-Sham for committing “serious violations of international humanitarian law, including abductions, torture and summary killings.”

Yet, as The Washington Post reported this past Sunday, under a “three-year-old program initiated by the United States, rebel groups that have been vetted by the CIA receive support in the form of salaries, light arms and ammunition, and limited quantities of anti-tank missiles.” Currently there are around a dozen such US-backed groups. According to the Post, “The supplies are overseen by a military operations center known as Musterek Operasyon Merkezi, or MOM, comprising representatives of the US-backed Friends of Syria.”

Alarmingly, according to a report on February 8 in the Financial Times, “MOM-backed commanders”—that is to say, US-backed rebel commanders—“regularly inflated their forces’ numbers to pocket extra salaries, and some jacked up weapons requests to hoard or to sell on the black market. Inevitably, much of that ended up in Isis hands.”

“The CIA knew about this, of course,” a former US-backed rebel commander told the FT, “everyone in MOM did.”

Why Does the US Continue to Arm Terrorists in Syria?

State Dept Says Dozens May Have Been Killed in Syrian Douma by Chemical Weapons

The US State Department told Sputnik on Saturday that Washington is concerned about reports of chemical weapons used in the Syrian city of Douma, and suggested that Russia was responsible “for the brutal targeting of countless Syrians.”

“As we’ve said, Russia ultimately bears responsibility for the brutal targeting of countless Syrians with chemical weapons. Russia’s protection of the Assad regime and failure to stop the use of chemical weapons in Syria calls into question its commitment to resolving the overall crisis,” the representative stressed.

Later, State Department’s spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a statement that the United States calls on Russia to stop supporting the Syrian government and to work on preventing chemical attacks in the country.

“The United States calls on Russia to end this unmitigated support [the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad] immediately and work with the international community to prevent further, barbaric chemical weapons attacks,” Nauert said.

What I’ve been saying for well over a decade–has Trump done something right for a change??? The knee-jerkers will undoubtedly try and turn this into a negative.

But let’s not forget Trump dancing with the Sheikhs of Saudi Arabia…
