Blackmagic PCC4K Demos

Cinematographer John Brawley, who now works for Blackmagic, said this:

RE:  Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm f4.0 PRO Lens,
That lens is a must have for the camera in my view. The IS (image stabilization) works really well, and the slower speed doesn’t matter so much when the sensor can pick up the slack (dual native ISO: 3200). I think they’re a great combo. I shot some other personal stuff with the 12-100 Olympus and I was so impressed by it.

Lens is $1300 and weighs 1 1/4 pounds.

You can oversample the video and select something like 1440p on Youtube for a good sense of the quality. Release is supposed to be around October.

$1295, September, needs expensive CFAST cards or external USB-C drive (cheaper?), new low-light capability.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K

Great looking stuff from the Blackmagic pocket cam with Pansonic 14-45mm lens.  That’s called nailing the exposure.  I have to get this camera.

Shane Hurlbut has put down his Canon 5d and picked up a BMC.  Here he offers good tips on testing out cameras and lighting to get a dialogue going with the cinematographer.  Good advice, videos and more.

Amazing announcement.  Price of the 2.5k BMC cams has been slashed by 1/3rd.

“We have done it and from today the Blackmagic Cinema Camera EF and MFT models will be reduced in price to US$1,995. This is very exciting and is one of the proudest moments of my life to be able to do this!”

Plus the little Plocket Cam version is now shipping.
