FILE - This undated file image posted on a militant website on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 shows fighters from the al-Qaida linked Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) marching in Raqqa, Syria. Once a vibrant, mixed city considered a bastion of support for President Bashar Assad, the eastern city of Raqqa is now a shell of its former life, transformed by al-Qaida militants into the nucleus of the terror group's version of an Islamic caliphate they hope one day to establish in Syria and Iraq. In rare interviews with The Associated Press, residents and activists in Raqqa describe a city where fear prevails, music has been banned, Christians have to pay religious tax in return for protection and face-veiled women and pistol-wielding men in jihadi uniforms patrol the streets. French jets bomb ISIS command center, other targets in Raqqa
P.S.

Dr. Peter Dale Scott notes:

Prominent in US newspapers are stories reporting how France’s air strikes on Raqqa, the capital of Daesh (the Islamic State) are “retaliation” for the bombings in Paris. There has been much less reporting of Daesh’s previous proclamation that the bombings in Paris “were retaliation for French airstrikes [five days earlier] against the group in Syria and Iraq.” (Wall Street Journal, November 14, 2015). I noticed even less media attention to the French bombing of Raqqa on November 8. (This was bombing that France, insanely, “hoped might be pre-emptive,” – New York Times, November 16, 2015)

Have I just personally changed the course of the Syrian war???

On Nov. 3 I wrote:

Mr. Obama,

Oil wells have addresses.

Are you still pretending to fight ISIS, when you could, on any day, and at any time, have simply bombed the Islamic State oil wells and put them out of commission?

Today the NY Times says that Obama’s planes are bombing oil fields now, and this time they really mean it. (So they claim. I remain skeptical.)

U.S. Steps Up Its Attacks on ISIS-Controlled Oil Fields in Syria

Coincidence?

Really?

Or are some glaring frauds too smelly to continue once the public gets a whiff of how ridiculous they are?

NYT:

The goal of the operation over the next several weeks is to cripple eight major oil fields, about two-thirds of the refineries and other oil-production sites controlled by the Islamic State, also called ISIS or ISIL.

“We intend to shut it all down,” Col. Steven H. Warren, a military spokesman in Baghdad, said in an email on Thursday [yesterday].

So it’s taken over a year to get around to allowing the Air Force to degrade the ISIS money supply. Nothing fishy there, right?

PS

Two more glaring issues:

  1. The “next several weeks” tells you how long it would have taken in the first place. What have they been doing all this time?
  2. They are stopping at “two-thirds of the refineries and other oil-production sites controlled by the Islamic State.” Why 2/3? They want to retain an engine to keep it going indefinitely.
PPS.

Stephen Lendman speculates:

Attacking ISIS held Syrian oil fields now appears part of a plan to prevent their use by Damascus if its army regains control. They’ve been protected to provide income for America’s proxy terrorist foot soldiers.

Washington wants Assad deprived of an important revenue source. If his forces recapture ISIS held oil fields and facilities, they’ll likely find them turned to rubble.

Washington Accuses Putin. Russian Airstrikes are Targeting “Our Guys” in Syria: CIA Operatives, Military Advisers, Mercenaries, Special Forces
PS

Some “moderate” beheadings from “our guys.”

epa04978545 A handout frame grab taken from a video footage made available on the official website of the Russian Defence Ministry on 15 October 2015 shows an aerial view of bomb explosion after airsrike carried out by Russian Su-24M bomber against so-called Islamic State (ISIS or IS) facilities in Idlib province, Syria. Backed by a Russian air campaign, Syria said that its troops started a wide-scale attack on rebel-held areas in the central province of Homs on 15 October 2015. More than 15 Russian airstrikes were carried out from the early hours of the day on the outskirts of Talbisseh and Teir Maaleh. We are to believe that there are three groups in Syria: Assad, ISIS and the “moderate” glorious freedom fighters, recently rebranded “Syrian Democratic Forces.”

But recently Z-Big himself emerged from his crypt to rave about the Russians bombing “American assets.”

download (1)

Our “assets” are the ones being bombed? You mean Al Nusrah Front, Brzezinski?

The maps pinpointing the locations of the Russian strikes … overwhelmingly concentrated in Idlib province, the adjoining Hama province, and areas of Latakia province near Idlib. But that fact does not take on significance unless it is recalled that the al-Nusra Frontal Qaeda’s franchise in Syria – and the “Army of Conquest” linked to it, unexpectedly took control of Idlib province in a major military offensive in March.

Obama won’t admit the real targets of Russian airstrikes

Two US led Coalition F16 Aircrafts Violate Syrian Airspace, Target Electric Power Plants in Aleppo

Syrian official news says that the US or allies attacked their power plants:

Two F16 aircrafts belonging to the so-called US-led coalition violated the Syrian airspace on Saturday, targeting the infrastructure and destroying two power plants in al-Rudwaniya area to the east of Aleppo city, a military source said.

According to the source, the two aircrafts violated the Syrian airspace at 10:00 AM Saturday morning.

The source considered the incident a “breach of the international law.”

The attack caused power outage in the targeted area, the source added.

The Radically Changing Story of the U.S. Airstrike on Afghan Hospital: From Mistake to Justification

Still, some Afghan officials continued to suggest that the attack was justified. “I know that there were civilian casualties in the hospital, but a lot of senior Taliban were also killed,” said Abdul Wadud Paiman, a member of Parliament from Kunduz.

So now we’re into full-on justification mode: yes, we did it; yes, we did it on purpose; and we’re not sorry because we were right to do so since we think some Taliban fighters were at the hospital, perhaps even shooting at us. In response to the emergence of this justification claim,MSF expressed the exact level of revulsion appropriate (emphasis added):

“MSF is disgusted by the recent statements coming from some Afghanistan government authorities justifying the attack on its hospital in Kunduz. These statements imply that Afghan and US forces working together decided to raze to the ground a fully functioning hospital with more than 180 staff and patients inside because they claim that members of the Taliban were present.

This amounts to an admission of a war crime. This utterly contradicts the initial attempts of the US government to minimize the attack as ‘collateral damage.’

…Army Gen. John Campbell, now claims that “local Afghans forces asked for air support and U.S. forces were not under direct fire just prior to the U.S. bombardment” of the hospital. As NBC notes, this directly contradicts prior claims: “The Pentagon had previously said U.S. troops were under direct fire.”

Look for endless, specious propaganda about alleged civilian casualties every single time Russia makes a move in Syria. What this really is about has even been covered by Reuters:

Russia bombs [terrorist] group trained by CIA

Russian warplanes, in a second day of strikes, bombed a camp run by rebels trained by the CIA, the group’s commander said, putting Moscow and Washington on opposing sides in a Middle East conflict for the first time since the Cold War.

…His fighters had been trained by the CIA in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, part of a program Washington says is aimed at supporting groups that oppose both Islamic State and Assad.

To Defend Iran Deal, Obama Boasts That He’s Bombed Seven Countries

As commander-in-chief, I have not shied away from using force when necessary (like helping Libyan Jihadists linked to Al Qaeda?). I have ordered tens of thousands of young Americans into combat. …

I’ve ordered military action in seven countries.
-U.S. President Barack Obama

This used to be known as war crimes, belligerence, Nuremberg violations, Crimes Against the Peace, a breach of the UN Charter. It’s why the Nazis got a bad reputation. It was the invading and destroying other countries that started World War 2, and that is why war was outlawed after it, at the Nuremberg Tribunals. Those responsible for initiating wars of aggression were HANGED.

Remember: “Al Nusra” has been on the US State Department’s terrorist list for years, and has been responsible for sarin gas attacks on civilians inside Syria.

Spies Warned White House: Don’t Hit Al Qaeda in Syria

The rationale / excuse:

U.S. intelligence officials warned that any additional American attacks against al Nusra could drive a wedge between the group and their erstwhile allies in the American-backed, moderate opposition.

The larger context is this covert illegal war crime against the government of Syria: created, sponsored, armed and trained by the USA and its Gulf dictator partners. This illegal proxy war complicates the world, understandably, and those responsible should simply be brought before a war crimes tribunal for Crimes Against the Peace and the deaths of a quarter of a million people. Hence the larger deception and utter farce that is this Syria imbroglio.

The article is chock full of the strains of imperial warmongers, the same scum of the planet who created the situation in the first place. Welcome to hell.

ISIS-Fighters-Parade-Mosul

The Daily Beast reports some slightly odd policy dimensions to this alleged war on ISIS:
Military Hates White House ‘Micromanagement’ of ISIS War

What they don’t talk about are the numerous partners or allies who currently fund, train and arm various factions of ISIS. Without that bigger picture, the policy makes no sense. So the military has no comprehension, or at least isn’t allowed to talk about, their understanding of the larger picture.

It seems like this “short leash” the US military is on plays into the idea of not bombing your allies’ favorite pet terrorists.

“Pentagon leaders tell The Daily Beast, is the ISIS war’s decision-making process, run by National Security Adviser Susan Rice. It’s been manic and obsessed with the tiniest of details. Officials talk of sudden and frequent meetings of the National Security Council and the so-called Principals Committee of top defense, intelligence, and foreign policy officials (an NSC and three PCs in one week this month); a barrage of questions from the NSC to the agencies that create mountains of paperwork for overworked staffers; and NSC insistence on deciding minor issues even at the operational level.”

There is a fraud here. It’s not a “war on ISIS” as the US public is being sold. Far from it. It never was. It never will be. ISIS is the most valuable asset Washington and friends have at this point. The terror state is WINNING, making gains, moving the ball downfield. They have rolled back Shia and Iranian influence in Iraq, no small matter. The Shiite government of Iraq is the one that kicked the US military out in the first place. Does no one remember anything prior to last week?

ISIS is also trying like hell to kill Bashar Al Assad, Washington’s enemy. In that matter they are allies. What’s more, ISIS is the most successful of the allies in the terror war on Syria.

These reasons explain the “micromanagement” and “short leash” the US military is now put on.

Congressional Research Service:
Proposed Train and Equip Authorities for
Syria: In Brief

“The Administration’s version envisions broader purposes for assistance that  include not only assistance to defend Syrians from IS attacks but also against  attacks by the Syrian government. “

“defending the Syrian people from attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and
the Levant and the Syrian regime; facilitating the provision of essential
services; and, stabilizing territory controlled by the opposition”;

Obama is trying to grant himself the power to decide who is the legitimate government of Syria. Defensive acts by the Syrian armed forces will be considered attacks on the US proxy terrorist forces.

This is a backdoor declaration of war. This is what 90%+ of the American people rose up to oppose last year. This is a breach of the UN Charter, as in Libya, in support of radical Jihadist terrorist forces. Only they’ll get to pick and choose which radical Jihadist terrorist forces are considered “good” and which are considered “bad,” by them and their Wahabbi allies in Saudi Arabia.

This is a sham and a crime. The US and friends have covertly helped to destroy Syria already. Now they’re going overt.
