CIA ignored rise of ISIS since 2013, Syrian rebel ‘spy chief’ says

“From the moment Daesh (an Arabic pejorative acronym for IS) had 20 members to when it had 20,000, we have shown everything to the Americans. When we asked them what they did with this information, they always gave evasive answers, saying it was in the hands of decision-makers.”

If Major Yaser Abdulrahim looks like he’s never worn his FSA uniform out into the field, that’s because he hasn’t. He is not a member of the FSA at all, and is instead a commander of the Fatah Halab, an umbrella group for Al Qaeda affiliates armed and funded by both the US and Saudi Arabia.

Look for endless, specious propaganda about alleged civilian casualties every single time Russia makes a move in Syria. What this really is about has even been covered by Reuters:

Russia bombs [terrorist] group trained by CIA

Russian warplanes, in a second day of strikes, bombed a camp run by rebels trained by the CIA, the group’s commander said, putting Moscow and Washington on opposing sides in a Middle East conflict for the first time since the Cold War.

…His fighters had been trained by the CIA in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, part of a program Washington says is aimed at supporting groups that oppose both Islamic State and Assad.

Where did ISIS come from? How was it able to gain land, arms and money so quickly?

Syrian Rebels Caught in ‘False-Flag’ Kidnapping

Short version: GPS probably saved that guy’s life. NBC knew it was the Free Syrian Army Sunni kidnapping gang from the start, but they went along with the propaganda ruse to blame the Assad government.

I wrote, almost three years ago, how Syrian rebels engaged in false flag attacks and fabricated propaganda.

Syria: The First Casualty…

The “Houla Massacre” was the first major false flag event to make news around the world, and was used as a pretext for western governments to kick out Syria’s ambassadors, in a staged farce.

“Essentially, a small hamlet in Syria was invaded by “up to 700” insurgent fighters. They attacked three government check posts in a lengthy battle, where the army returned artillery fire. A contingent of these terrorists then went house to house seeking out political opponents and massacred the entire families of those who were still loyal to the government or who had converted from Sunni to Shiite Islam.

“When the rebels seized the lower checkpoint in the center of town… they began to sweep all the families loyal to the authorities in neighboring houses, including the elderly, women and children. Several families of the Al-Sayed were killed, including 20 young children and the family of the Abdul Razak. Many of those killed were ‘guilty’ of the fact that they dared to change from Sunnis to Shiites.”

They collected bodies and claimed that the victims were killed by army shelling, which was obviously not consistent with forensic analysis, nor with reality.

The German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) confirmed this Russian account of the Houla atrocities on June 7th. The murdered families are named and described in more detail.

“Several dozen members of a family were slaughtered, which had converted from Sunni to Shia Islam. Members of the Shomaliya, an Alawi family, were also killed, as was the family of a Sunni member of the Syrian parliament who is regarded as a collaborator.” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Abermals Massaker in Syrien, 6/7/2012; Translation)

Previously German newspaper Der Spiegel published an interview with the Syrian rebels’ executioner and his death squad named the “burial brigade.”

“According to Abu Rami, Hussein’s burial brigade has put between 200 and 250 traitors to death since the beginning of the uprising.” (Der Spiegel, An Executioner for Syria’s Rebels Tells His Story, 3/29/2012)”

Free Syrian Army Sold Kayla Mueller to ISIS

I have established the fact that Kayla was kidnapped by the FSA, and they had the sole opportunity to kidnap her. It is a fact that Syrian civilians never had access to weapons. The only people who had weapons prior to spring 2011 were the police, army and security forces. However, once the Syrian revolution began, the weapons came pouring in from Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. The FSA had access to the best weapons, all supplied by the United States of America, their payroll checks coming to them from the King of Saudi Arabia.

However, as much money as you give the typical FSA fighter, he just wants more and more. This is why the FSA have repeatedly kidnapped wealthy people and demanded ransom for their release. This has become a well documented side income for FSA. It has been proven that the FSA sold other western kidnap victims to ISIS. The motivation of the FSA in selling Kayla Mueller to ISIS had nothing to do with Radical Islam, or their hatred of USA, even though USA is their sponsor in Syria, it only was about money. Money makes the world go around, and FSA greed is what killed Kayla Mueller, among others.

Phil Greaves keeps us updated on the MintPress fiasco, and the attacks on Dale Gavlak and Yahya Ababneh.

The Syria Chemical Weapons Attack and the Role of Saudi Intelligence. The Mint News Report

MintPress editor speaks out:

Dear readers,

I wanted to personally express my appreciation for your continued support and readership following our newsroom’s August 29, 2013 exclusive report titled: “Syrians in Ghouta Claim Saudi-Supplied Rebels Behind Chemical Attack.”

I’ve been silent until today out of concern for the safety of the journalists, Dale Gavlak and Yahya Ababneh, while we worked to bring clarity to their findings and ensuing events.  I’m relieved to now be able to share happenings of the past 60 days as Human Rights Watch addresses ongoing threats to co-author Yahya by Jordanian and Saudi actors in Amman, Jordan.

To be clear, my MintPress colleagues and I continue to stand by Dale and Yahya and their reporting. The tragic incident in Ghouta on August 21—and the Syria conflict as a whole—is complex and, as the article stated, some information could not be independently verified.  While efforts to discredit the story and our organization have disappointed us, we have been most concerned by the tremendous pressure placed on Dale by the Associated Press and more serious threats faced by Yahya.

Since the article was published, I’ve been in almost daily contact with co-author Yahya in Amman, Jordan.  He has related ongoing threats of imprisonment by the Jordanian police for his travel to Syria if he were to continue to report on this story or grant further press interviews.  Yahya has also described increasing pressure from Saudi actors to retract his story and the specific allegation by Ghouta residents of a rebel link to Prince Bandar.

In line with Dale’s description of Yahya as “a reputable journalist” to the New York Times, she distanced herself from the article only after stating in emails to MintPress that the Associated Press demanded her name be removed from the byline nearly two days after the article published.  She has not informed MintPress of the AP’s reason for this request—nor why they and National Public Radio (NPR), subsequently, suspended her.
