Wyoming Has Effectively Made Citizen Science a Crime

Nearly every day I chronicle the slide toward a fascist, dictatorial police state here. Yet the overwhelming majority remain willfully ignorant, apathetic and even hostile to the plain facts.

The government of Wyoming has a strong message to would-be environmental activists: Look, but don’t touch.

Under a new statute signed into law by the Wyoming legislature, collecting data on state land—including private and public property like, say, the protected Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks—without the permission of a landowner is a crime punishable by up to a year in prison.

While this sounds like a simple rehashing of trespassing laws, the legislation also seems overly broad. “Data,” after all, could range from an innocent photograph to a soil sample. Even more worrying, “collection” is defined as gathering information “in any form from open land which issubmitted or intended to be submitted to any agency of the state or federal government.” The legislation also states that information collected without authorization is inadmissible in any subsequent court proceedings.

British medical journal The Lancet is under attack for daring to speak out on the massacre of over 1,800 Palestinians last year and the related health crises in Gaza.

Lancet medical journal accused of ‘hate speech’ on Israeli aggression in Gaza

Specifically referencing Israel’s military assault on Gaza last summer, the letter insisted “the massacre in Gaza spares no one.” Its victims include “the disabled and sick in hospitals, children playing on the beach or on the roof top, with a large majority of non-combatants,” the letter said.

CNN:

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza stands at more than 1,800, with nearly 10,000 wounded, Gaza’s Health Ministry said Sunday. More than 300 children have died, the ministry has reported, as the United Nations repeatedly raises concerns about the high number of deaths in Gaza.

Palestine Goes to U.N. Security Council to Demand Israeli Withdrawal by 2016

Israeli crimes against humanity have continued with United States collusion. The US is bound by treaty to cut off all military aid to the Israeli terror state for breaching the UN Charter and for violating numerous resolutions to establish its borders.

The true story of this conflict has a categorically different set of headlines than propagandized Americans have previously seen.

  • Israel Steals Land
  • Israel Steals Water
  • Israel Steals Natural Gas
  • Israel Bombs Civilians
  • Israel Massacres Thousands
  • Many More Thousands Maimed
  • Israeli Propaganda Infiltrates Social Media
  • Israel Pressure Threatens Journalists
  • Israel Seeks to Expand Borders Indefinitely
  • Israel Violates Dozens of UN Resolutions

Et cetera, this is a conflict where one side has a major military surrounding the other side, which subsists in a ghetto. The Israelis learned more than a few tricks out of  the World War Two experience. The ghettoization of its opponents, demonization and final solution are always, as they say, “on the table.”

Gaza-Stike

It is not Palestinians surrounding Israel. It is the Israeli military surrounding Palestine.

It is not Palestinians starving Israelis with a military siege. It is Israel starving Gaza, turning it into the world’s largest prison camp.

It is not Palestinians bombing Israelis. It is the Israeli military bombing Palestine.

It is not Palestine stealing Israel. It’s Israelis stealing Palestine.

Most of the world understands these basic facts. Americans are too deluded and propagandized to comprehend international events. Any international events.

The calculations showed that the biggest culprit, by far, is beef. That was no surprise, say Milo and Shepon. The surprise was in the size of the gap: In total, eating beef is more costly to the environment by an order of magnitude – about ten times on average – than other animal-derived foods, including pork and poultry. Cattle require on average 28 times more land and 11 times more irrigation water, are responsible for releasing 5 times more greenhouse gases, and consume 6 times as much nitrogen, as eggs or poultry. Poultry, pork, eggs and dairy all came out fairly similar. That was also surprising, because dairy production is often thought to be relatively environmentally benign. But the research shows that the price of irrigating and fertilizing the crops fed to milk cows – as well as the relative inefficiency of cows in comparison to other livestock – jacks up the cost significantly.
