Washington’s censorship regime goes global

Facebook removed a post on Sri Lanka by the World Socialist Web Site’s official Tamil-language Facebook page. The alleged reason was violation of unspecified restrictions in Facebook’s “community standards,” which is no explanation at all….

The move is the latest in the crackdown on left-wing, anti-war and socialist organizations by US-based technology monopolies including Google, Facebook and Twitter. As these companies integrate themselves ever more closely into the American state apparatus, they are increasingly weaponized to promote US imperialist aims all over the world. At the center of this drive is the suppression of socialist political viewpoints.

“Truthdig” (sic) contributor (and now Counterpunch), with longstanding ties to foundation-funded professional propaganda complex, demonizes dissenters, claims everything critical of White Helmets and Al Qaeda false flags is “fake.”

The Left, Syria and Fake News

Kolhatkar claims she doesn’t want US bombing of Syria, but she ignores seven years of covert arms smuggling to radical Islamists: the reason there is a war there at all. The professional “left” pretends the US hasn’t created the war with its willing partners. This is the type of propaganda Chomsky, et al. have banged out for years. They ignore the weapons, ignore the state-sponsored (CIA) smuggling, and they attack domestic dissenters instead.

For Sonali Kolhatkar’s education, here is everything posted here on the “White Helmets,” a fraudulent organization created to manufacture propaganda for people like Sonali to cry crocodile tears over and sell to western audiences.

The big photo cache of White Helmet members in their former roles as Al Qaeda fighters is the central post not to be missed:

But dissenters are the fakes, Sonali? Not the Al Qaeda/White Helmets creating fake rescues? Not the Al Qaeda connected terrorists caught repeatedly with chemical weapons?

Maybe Sonali Kolhatkar is the real fake in this story…

PS.

In one of Kolhatkar’s own sources, cited in her Counterpunch piece:

Associated Press: Chemical weapons team in Syria kept from alleged attack site

Nuseir, 25, said he ran from the shelter to a nearby clinic and fainted. After he was revived, he returned to the shelter and found his wife and daughters dead, with foam coming from their mouths.

He and two other residents accused the rebel Army of Islam of carrying out the attack. As they spoke, government troops were not far away but out of earshot. Nuseir said a gas cylinder was found leaking the poison gas, adding that he didn’t think it was dropped from the air because it still looked intact.

Oooooops. How does the Army of Islam releasing chlorine in any way implicate Assad or the Russians???

Kolhatkar ignores half a decade’s revelations about the Islamists using chemical weapons, including UN inspector Carla del Ponte:

And yet Kolhatkar would arrogantly try to discredit us for knowing far more than she does about the situation.

He who pays the piper calls the tune.

Article is from Truthdig, which I’ve had some problems with over their 9/11 denialism. The 9/11 attacks led to this whole fiasco, but here you go…

Thought Police for the 21st Century

In late April and early May the World Socialist Web Site, which identifies itself as a Trotskyite group that focuses on the crimes of capitalism, the plight of the working class and imperialism, began to see a steep decline in readership. The decline persisted into June. Search traffic to the World Socialist Web Site has been reduced by 75 percent overall. And the site is not alone. AlterNet’s search traffic is down 71 percent, Consortium News is down 72 percent, Global Research and Truthdig have seen declines. And the situation appears to be growing worse.

The reductions coincided with the introduction of algorithms imposed by Google to fight “fake news.” Google said the algorithms are designed to elevate “more authoritative content” and marginalize “blatantly misleading, low quality, offensive or downright false information.” It soon became apparent, however, that in the name of combating “fake news,” Google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are censoring left-wing, progressive and anti-war sites. The 150 most popular search terms that brought readers to the World Socialist Web Site, including “socialism,” “Russian Revolution” and “inequality,” today elicit little or no traffic.

Remember: The foundation-funded “left” also censors content, such as legitimate facts about the 9/11 attacks and the Treason at the heart of it. It’s kind of difficult to be sympathetic to Truthdig’s readership problems when they have been censoring 9/11 activists such as myself since the beginning. Further, they are too cowardly to debate their ignorant positions. That’s why this blog exists, btw.

The Insufferably Boring Left

Joe Giambrone
Love him or hate him, Swamp Thing sure does make a lot of noise. One badly completed Tweet sends the world into a frenzy for days, #covfefe.

The Left, not so much. Unless it’s Kathy Griffin being excoriated for daring to hold up a puppet, and that’s largely the result of the right’s echo chamber of hatred. They smelled blood in the water, and by the end of the day a dozen highly original memes showed her chopping off her own head. Ted Nugent’s death threats against Obama received little play, despite his chumming it up inside the Oval Office with Swampy the Victim.

The bread and butter Left propagandists, churning out their daily diatribes, are far less compelling though. Those with microphones and unlimited podcast time are the worst offenders. It goes on and on and on, and I can’t imagine average shlubs enduring more than a couple of minutes. That’s all I can take, and I already agree.

The Left just doesn’t get how to make their messages palatable, and they’re losing–with a few notable exceptions. Robert Reich used to produce short videos featuring a white board that were usually a bit too long, but more impactful than most. Jimmy Dore fills time, but usually he’s got better things to say and imbues it with some humor. A number of these Left echo chambers send out images of pointedly cogent Tweets, and these pithy memes cut through the noise.

Other Young Turks shows are wastelands of endless half-assed babble, and no expertise on display. With the 2016 chaos more progressives started streaming video, and with zero production value or show conceptualization, these are frankly unwatchable. Prior to those, the Greens could usually be found delivering long-winded speeches and essentially saying the same things, the same phrases, for hours. It turns people off to politics when even the opposition you like makes it unbearable to sit through. There’s no entertainment value, and that’s the problem.

Those who would lead the revolution against the right need to take cues on how to expand into the mainstream. It’s not enough to preach to the choir, no matter how ego-fulfilling it may seem. The great blob in the center is a tough audience with no patience, infinite choices at their fingertips, and they need to be attracted, sold on a concept, and released back into the wild before it becomes burdensome.

Filling time is not going to win them over. The luxury of the infinite podcast has been a great negative, a dead end, as it generally turns people off to podcasts and videocasts. These offer very little useful information per unit of time. There isn’t enough there to justify the time commitment. Time is money, or even more valuable. Time is life itself: treat it that way.

Noam Chomsky and his smug, empty-headed cheerleaders have been making waves this week, apparently a full-blown conspiracy-theorist now. This is after Chomsky fucked up the US left for fifty years, denying the realities of the JFK hit and 9/11 attack, which was clearly allowed to proceed despite mountains of warnings. Noam completely ignores that the CIA knew the purported hijackers were inside the country for over a year! Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

But Noam would have none of it. Indignation and apathy were his M.O.

All that was pre-Trump, however. The rule book has been burned. Yes, Noam a false flag attack is a possibility. Of course it is. It always was. But since you had no interest in all the evidence, why should anyone care what you have to say at all? Phantom future attacks? By whom?

The people who can perpetrate a false flag attack are in intelligence, not in Trump’s parade of incompetent clowns. The intelligence apparatus has been not-too-subtly at war with Trump for months, over his Russia policy. They want Russia steamrolled back to Moscow, even risking nuclear holocaust to get there. Trump, for whatever reasons, likely corrupt business relations, didn’t want to antagonize the world’s other big nuclear power. He is out of step with the NATO encroachment agenda, and the CIA and their neocon warlords hate him for it.

So, is Chomsky simply stating the obvious?

We always live under the threat of false flag terrorism. The CIA pioneered it since the 1950s. Rulers capitalize on it, and so they are (always) motivated to get away with murder and Treason. See Operation Gladio.

That reality never changed. Only Chomsky’s (apparent) awakening is different. Like a thought leader of drones, his new affinity for the concept of false flag terror permeates through the left gatekeepers this week, those usual suspects. Sort of validates my entire critique, huh, Noam?

You ready for that debate yet?
