With Mueller back in the news, we get some more corroboration that he’s a cover-up tool. It’s pretty early in the video.

Mohammad bin Salman / “MBS”

There’s been a coup in Saudi Arabia, and this asshole–a terrorist mass murderer–has seized power. Pepe Escobar, and a must-read piece in Asia Times:

A coup in the House of Saud?
BONUS:

A German intelligence memo outs the Saudis for sponsoring Al Qaeda.

The BND memo crucially detailed how the House of Saud, in Syria, had bankrolled the creation of the Army of Conquest – basically a revamp of Jabhat al-Nusra, aka al-Qaeda in Syria – as well as ideological sister outfit Ahrar al-Sham.

Confirmed in UK Independent

“The BND lists the areas in which Saudi Arabia is adopting a more aggressive and warlike policy. In Syria, in early 2015, it supported the creation of The Army of Conquest, primarily made up of the al-Qaeda affiliate the al-Nusra Front and the ideologically similar Ahrar al-Sham, which won a series of victories against the Syrian Army in Idlib province. In Yemen, it began an air war directed against the Houthi movement and the Yemeni army, which shows no sign of ending. Among those who gain are al-Qaeda in the Arabian peninsula, which the US has been fruitlessly trying to weaken for years by drone strikes. “

Subject: Congrats!

At the same time we should return to plans to provide the FSA, or some group of moderate forces, with equipment that will allow them to deal with a weakened ISIL, and stepped up operations against the Syrian regime. This entire effort should be done with a low profile, avoiding the massive traditional military operations that are at best temporary solutions. While this military/para-military operation is moving forward, we need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region. This effort will be enhanced by the stepped up commitment in the KRG. The Qataris and Saudis will be put in a position of balancing policy between their ongoing competition to dominate the Sunni world and the consequences of serious U.S. pressure.

So, Hillary Clinton and John Podesta know as of 9-27-2014 that both Qatar and Saudi Arabia give arms and money to ISIL and other “radical” Sunni groups, including Al Qaeda of course, which is known as Al Nusrah inside Syria.

The question is: what have they done about it? We know that the Clintons have received millions from those two named countries, among others.

I think it’s time we had a real investigation of just whom the enemy actually is and why all these people are dying in wars of choice cooked up by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Podesta and others in Washingon DC. How have they been bribed by Gulf oil money into betraying us all? Into betraying humanity.

NSA-TALKING POINSyPDF FILE

NSA has a talking points memo that was recently released.  This is what Feinstein, Obama, Clapper et. al. have been parroting to the media to spin the NSA’s crimes against the Constitution.

Ray McGovern discusses the bogus rationales offered:

“We suggest, with all due respect, that you give us an opportunity to brief you, before you find yourself repeating undocumented claims like “lives have been saved,” and demonstrably false claims that no abuses have occurred.”

“– NSA AND ITS PARTNERS MUST MAKE SURE WE CONNECT THE DOTS SO THAT THE NATION IS NEVER ATTACKED AGAIN LIKE IT WAS ON 9/11

At a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on October 2, Senator Feinstein showed her hand when she said: “I will do everything I can to prevent this [NSA’s bulk] program from being canceled.” Declaring that 9/11 “can never be allowed to happen in the United States of America again,” Feinstein claimed that intelligence officials did not have enough information to prevent the terrorist attacks.

Mr. President, we trust you are aware that the lack-of-enough-intelligence argument is dead wrong. Feinstein’s next dubious premise — that bulk collection is needed to prevent another 9/11 — is unproven and highly unlikely (not to mention its implications for the privacy protections of the Fourth Amendment).

Given the closed circle surrounding you, we are allowing for the possibility that the smell from these rotting red herrings has not yet reached you — even though your own Review Group has found, for example, that NSA’s bulk collection has thwarted exactly zero terrorist plots.

The sadder reality, Mr. President, is that NSA itself had enough information to prevent 9/11, but chose to sit on it rather than share it with the FBI or CIA. We know; we were there. We were witness to the many bureaucratic indignities that made NSA at least as culpable for pre-9/11 failures [or high treasons] as are other U.S. intelligence agencies.”

McGovern, a CIA veteran insider, insists on calling the September 11th attacks an “intelligence failure.”  He does not acknowledge that those hoping for a “new Pearl Harbor” in the Bush regime might consider it an “intelligence success.”  Failure brings a connotation of innocence, that there was no intentional malfeasance, no one intentionally blocked investigations of the hijacker cells.  This does not conform to the available evidence.   “Failure” is a weasel word like the tired old cliche, “mistakes were made.”  That is not an adequate description of what happened, and it carries unwarranted assumptions.

McGovern “fails” to note that intelligence clampdowns on the hijackers came from the highest levels, top down, at NSA, CIA and FBI!  That’s a pattern, not a “failure.”  That’s a deliberate policy, and how they explain it away doesn’t necessarily reflect why it actually occurred.  We saw John Ashcroft, the Attorney General, cancel terrorism briefings with the acting FBI head prior to 9/11.  We saw Coleen Rowley’s investigation of Zacarias Moussaoui’s laptop obstructed by her own FBI headquarters.  We saw Richard Clarke cut out of the loop and covertly denied access to the CIA memos regarding the San Diego hijacker cell — which more than 50 CIA officers knew about!

That’s not a “failure” Ray.  That is something else entirely, deliberate agency.  People at the top were compromised, duped, fooled, however you want to put it, into cooperating with … I guess with Al Qaeda if you want to take it to the logical conclusion.

Boston Review:

Exit Strategy: In 1963, JFK ordered a complete withdrawal from Vietnam

In 1963, JFK ordered a complete withdrawal from Vietnam.

“(3) On October 11, the White House issued NSAM 263, which states:

The President approved the military recommendations contained in section I B (1-3) of the report, but directed that no formal announcement be made of the implementation of plans to withdraw 1,000 U.S. military personnel by the end of 1963.”

Notably, Noam Chomsky is exposed in this article as pushing the official story, for decades now, minimizing the meaning of this Viet Nam withdrawal. Chomsky has openly spun the facts for questionable motives for a long, long time.   His verbal contortions on the 9/11 attacks parallel his approach to the Kennedy assassination.

Justice Department Leaks Memo “Legalizing” Murdering Americans

By David Swanson

Global Research, February 05, 2013

War is a Crime

Here is the memo.  With a few tweaks and a more creative title — like “Murder With Your Hands Clean” — this memo could sell a lot of copies.

And why not?  Either there’s a whistleblower in the Department of So-Called Justice about to be charged with espionage, and NBC is about to face the same persecution as WikiLeaks, or this is one of those “good” leaks that the White House wanted made public in an underhanded manner — perhaps as an imagined boost to morality-challenged CIA director nominee John Brennan who faces his Senate Rejection Hearing on Thursday.

The memo, which is thought to be a summary of a longer one, says the United States can murder a U.S. citizen abroad (abroad but somehow “outside the area of active hostilities” even though killing him or her seems rather active and hostile) if three conditions are met:

“1. an informed, high-level official of the U.S. government has determined that the targeted individual poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States;”

The memo goes on to base its claims on the supposed powers of the President, not of some random official.  Who is such an official?  Who decides whether he or she is informed?  What if two of them disagree?  What if he or she disagrees with the President? or the Congress? or the Supreme Court? or the U.S. public? or the United Nations? or the International Criminal Court? What then?  One solution is to redefine the terms so that everyone has to agree.   “Imminent” is defined in this memo to mean nothing at all.  “The United States” clearly means anywhere U.S. troops may be.

“2. capture is infeasible, and the United States continues to monitor whether capture becomes feasible;”

And if a high-level official claims it’s infeasible, who can challenge that?

“3. the operation would be conducted in a manner consistent with applicable law of war principles.”

When a U.S. drone strike killed Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, no one had shown either of them to meet the above qualifications.

When a U.S. drone strike targeted and killed 16-year-old Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, no one had shown him to meet the above qualifications; I don’t think anyone has made such a claim to this day.  And what about his cousin who died for the crime of being with him at the wrong time?

The sociopaths who wrote this memo have “legalized” the drone-killing of Americans with the exception of all the Americans known thus far to have been murdered by our government with the use of drones.

“Conspiracy Theory”: Foundations of a Weaponized Term
Subtle and Deceptive Tactics to Discredit Truth in Media and Research
Prof. James F. Tracy

The editorial “gatekeepers” of America operate as if directed by our own Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA put forth their propaganda strategy in the wake of public outrage over the murder of president John F. Kennedy and the subsequent cover-up and fabrications of the (bi-partisan) Warren Commission.

The similarly bi-partisan 9/11 Commission was also a controlled, censored, rigged exercise in obfuscation whose own co-chairman Lee Hamilton admitted on Canadian television, that the commission was “set up to fail.” And fail they did, but that does not prompt a real independent investigation of the 9/11 attacks, the role of “foreign governments” (Senator Bob Graham), or the role of the CIA itself, who helped to hide the “San Diego cell” hijackers from domestic law enforcement for 16 months prior to the attacks.

Here is how the CIA directs editors to respond to the “conspiracy theories” it found problematic, vis a vis JFK:

CIA Document #1035-960
RE: Concerning Criticism of the Warren Report

“Presumably as a result of the increasing challenge to the Warren Commission’s report, a public opinion poll recently indicated that 46% of the American public did not think that Oswald acted alone, while more than half of those polled thought that the Commission had left some questions unresolved.”

“This trend of opinion is a matter of concern to the U.S. government, including our organization.”

“Just because of the standing of the Commissioners, efforts to impugn their rectitude and wisdom tend to cast doubt on the whole leadership of American society.”

“Conspiracy theories have frequently thrown suspicion on our organization [CIA], for example by falsely alleging that Lee Harvey Oswald worked for us.”

“To discuss the publicity problem with [?] and friendly elite contacts (especially politicians and editors), pointing out that the Warren Commission made as thorough an investigation as humanly possible, that the charges of the critics are without serious foundation, and that further speculative discussion only plays into the hands of the opposition. Point out also that parts of the conspiracy talk appear to be deliberately generated by Communist propagandists.”

“b. To employ propaganda assets to [negate] and refute the attacks of the critics. Book reviews and feature articles are particularly appropriate for this purpose.

So, there you have it, the CIA domestic propaganda playbook.

Operation Mockingbird is relevant here.

THE CIA AND THE MEDIA
Carl Bernstein, Rolling Stone, Oct. 20 1977

One last point on the JFK matter–

That memo contains a whopper of a lie. See if you catch it:

“e. Oswald would not have been any sensible person’s choice for a co-conspirator. He was a “loner,” mixed up, of questionable reliability and an unknown quantity to any professional intelligence service.”

An unknown quantity?

The man who defected to the Soviet Union, married a Russian girl, and was allowed to emigrate back to the United States without issue?

Unknown to intelligence?

Can they seriously type that with a straight face?

“I’m just a patsy.” -Lee Harvey Oswald in custody

Jim Garrison’s investigation and subsequent trial, which is the basis of the Oliver Stone film JFK, showed that Oswald was working for FBI and investigating the CIA’s Cuban terrorists in Louisiana. This is more plausible than the claim of document 1035-960, that Oswald was an “unknown quantity to any professional intelligence service.” That claim doesn’t pass the laugh test.
