Flightradar24 showed an unidentified aircraft that did not even have a helicopter icon hovering over the site. However, the aircraft’s 24-bit ICAO code included in the description makes it possible to establish the model, which is the US military’s Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk.

I’d like to point out how a hoax can use video inserts to fool real pilots. They see everything through a “heads up display” system. Having targets to chase is a natural part of the software development. It would already exist in code, waiting to be used.
Incompetent journalists never even asked the pilots if they saw anything at all with their bare eyes. No one expects an elaborate hoax by their own superiors.

I wouldn’t call a coordinated hoax against military personnel a “bug,” but something far more deliberate and sophisticated.
The pilots began noticing the objects after their 1980s-era radar was upgraded to a more advanced system.
