Everything we know about Trump’s connection to Epstein

Virginia Giuffre filed a civil suit against Epstein’s reported former girlfriend, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, in 2015, accusing Maxwell of recruiting her into “ sexual slavery” as a 15-year-old in 1999. She then worked as a locker room attendant at Mar-a-Lago, which Epstein and Maxwell allegedly frequented, and she claims Maxwell approached her while she was working at Trump’s resort to recruit her into giving Epstein a massage.

The plaintiff alleged that she “was enticed by promises of money and a modeling career to attend a series of parties, with other similarly situated minor females” at Epstein’s Manhattan residence. Trump was said to have attended at least four of the same parties, and to have known the plaintiff was 13-years-old, since he knew her for the previous 7 years, too…

Advances in research on the impacts of
anti-submarine sonar on beaked whales

Whales are found to have “the bends” or nitrogen gas built up in their blood. The theory is that the sonar chases them in a panic to escape, and they may be diving to extreme depths to try and avoid it, and then resurfacing to breathe, and this is more than they can take.

You’re not going to fucking believe this one. Are you ready?

The FBI argues in court that it’s concerned about the privacy rights of Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, and that’s the real reason it won’t release information about the 9/11 plot.

I shit you not.

Appeal: How much information about 9/11 must FBI share with public?

“Only then did the FBI locate and produce records responsive to the Bulldog’s requests, but in dribs and drabs, spread across a year of litigation. Rather than withhold information judiciously, the FBI redacted every word for which it could make a colorable argument – even if that meant claiming a record could not be released because its disclosure would constitute an unwarranted invasion of the privacy of a senior member of al Qaeda,” the brief says.

The referenceas to the FBI’s assertion of privacy rights for alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and fellow “high-value” Guantanamo detainee Mustafa al-Hawsawi in withholding PowerPoint slides detailing their credit card information…

Other pages from the overview also were redacted, including slides about the funding of the 9/11 attacks – information of keen interest to the families of 9/11 victims seeking to hold Saudi Arabia responsible in federal civil court in New York.

…2012 FBI report that shows agents and prosecutors in New York were then actively exploring filing charges against a suspectfor providing material support for two of the five 9/11 terrorists – Saudis Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar —  who crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon.

The FBI redacted the report citing national security, privacy and other reasons.

Kompass, field operations director at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, passed a confidential internal report on the abuse of children by French troops in CAR to the French authorities in 2014 after the UN failed to raise the alarm and stop the exploitation. The alleged abuse involved hungry children – as young as eight – in the M’Poko camp for displaced people, coerced into sex in return for food or a little money.

Instead of investigating those allegedly responsible for what proved to be an even wider crime – including the involvement of its peacekeepers – the UN’s Office for Internal Oversight Services launched an internal investigation into Kompass’ conduct. Accusing the former Swedish diplomat of leaking, it condemned his “misconduct”, suspended him from his job, humiliatingly marched him out of his office, and demanded his resignation.

…delayed response to Orlando shooting

At 2:02 a.m. on a muggy night in central Florida, a gunman traded shots with an off-duty police officer, slipped into a nightclub with a rifle and killed at least 50 people in the most lethal mass shooting in U.S. history.

At 5:05 a.m., a tactical unit stormed the club and the shooter was killed.

Every single member of House votes to require warrants to access all emails

The House voted 419-0 on a bill requiring law enforcement to obtain a warrant to look through Americans’ emails, no matter how old they are. The bill would update a 30-year-old law that doesn’t require a warrant for emails older than 180 days.

A blow against the STASI Orwellian nightmare state?

Most of them are criminals, to be fair.
