Accused Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz belonged to white nationalist group

Nikolas Cruz, who participated in paramilitary drills with a white nationalist group was charged with murder Thursday in the deaths of 17 people who were fatally shot at a huge Florida high school in the nation’s deadliest school attack in five years.

The current ROF leader seems to be Jordan Jereb, who barely a month after being released from jail on burglary charges, professed his love for Molotov cocktails and recommended a video giving instruction on when it’s okay to shoot a police officer.

Looking good, Rethugs. Watch them all distance themselves from Adolf Jr., as if it couldn’t have anything to do with their fascist party.

In Alabama, the heart of Trump country, many think he’s backing the wrong candidate in Senate race

Roy Moore tells us when America was “great”:

“I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery — they cared for one another…. Our families were strong, our country had a direction,” he replied.

BUSTED: Oklahoma police chief outed as owner of racist website and white supremacist record label

You’re no longer allowed to be white, apparently.  Ghost in the Shell has provoked a backlash of endless whining about the specious concept of “appropriation.” If it wasn’t so tiresome and ridiculous I’d treat it seriously. It’s not. Cultures share. That’s the entire history of humanity.  Perhaps Japan can stop using Henry Ford’s good-old-American automobile concept?

Some are gloating about “weak” box office for the film today. But is it?

The live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell died at the box office this weekend, bringing in $19 million in ticket sales [in the US alone] against a budget of $110 million. The film brought in $40 million internationally, although it has yet to open in Japan or China.”

So it took in half its budget in one weekend. The people who love anime the most haven’t even had a chance to go. But it’s being declared dead a bit prematurely. I’m ready to head out and see it for myself.

Two American studios financed the film. They decided on the casting. If a Japanese studio wanted to risk $110M, they could have cast whomever they liked. In the US, we have a population:

“Whites (including Hispanics who identify as White) constitute the majority, with a total of about 246,660,710, or 77.35% of the population as of 2014.”

Pure evil. We have 77% white people, and so probably should never make another movie, television show or anything else. White is evil by nature, don’t you know? Bad white people, for existing…

PS

“If that’s not allowed, then Darth Vader probably shouldn’t speak English, either.”

Quebec City mosque attack suspect known as online troll inspired by French far-right

I see these people all over Facebook and beyond. They are Alex Jones’ hordes. They are impervious to information that challenges their iron-clad crypto-racist ideology.

Acquaintances from Mr. Bissonnette’s earlier years at Les Compagnons-de-Cartier high school in Quebec City say he was introverted, socially awkward and frequently bullied. Toma Popescu remembered bigger kids teasing Mr. Bissonnette for his slight, pallid appearance and his unfashionable clothing.

PS

Fox (Faux) “News” deliberately misidentifies the terrorist as “Moroccan.” So the nutty right-winger audience will falsely believe that terrorism is coming from Muslims, rather than against them. They will twist this incident to reinforce their mindless hatred, racism, xenophobia.

FreePress.net:

“Alt-right” is a term white nationalists and white supremacists use to obscure their overtly racist, anti-Semitic, xenophobic and misogynist agenda.

Too many media outlets are using the term without definition or context — and these omissions help normalize extremist groups and create an environment where increased levels of dehumanization, harassment and violence against Muslims, immigrants, people of color, women and LGBTQI folks become daily occurrences.

Tell the media: Stop doing PR for racists.

The Associated Press just released standards for reporting on the “alt-right” — urging the media to stop using the term without context.1 All news outlets should follow the AP’s recommendation to “avoid using the term generically and without definition … because it is not well known and … may exist primarily as a public-relations device to make its supporters’ actual beliefs less clear and more acceptable to a broader audience.”

Urge the media to stop using the term “alt-right” without context. News outlets need to call out racism, white nationalism, neo-Nazism, white supremacy and misogyny for what they are.

People’s lives are at risk as members of the incoming Trump administration call for mass deportation of undocumented people, a ban on Muslims entering the country,2 and suppression of the Black vote.3According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there were 701 reported incidents of hateful harassment in the 10 days following the election.4 These incidents can’t be separated from Trump’s hateful platform or the agenda of the so-called “alt-right.”5

The media must hold the administration and white supremacist groups accountable for their actions and stop doing PR for racists.

Thanks for all that you do—
