America’s National Defense Is Really Offense

by Philip Giraldi

One of the most bizarre aspects of the report is its breathtaking assumption that “competitors” should be subjected to a potential military response if it is determined that they are in conflict with the strategic goals of the U.S. government. It is far removed from the old-fashioned Constitutional concept that one has armed forces to defend the country against an actual threat involving an attack by hostile forces and instead embraces preventive war, which is clearly an excuse for serial interventions overseas.

Some of the remarks by Mattis relate to China and Russia.  He said that “We face growing threats from revisionist powers as different as China and Russia, nations that seek to create a world consistent with their authoritarian models – pursuing veto authority over other nations’ economic, diplomatic and security decisions.” There is, however, no evidence that either country is exporting “authoritarian models,” nor are they vetoing anything that they do not perceive as direct and immediate threats frequently orchestrated by Washington, which is intervening in local quarrels thousands of miles away from the U.S. borders. And when it comes to exporting models, who does it more persistently than Washington?

The report goes on to state that Russia and China and rogue regimes like Iran have “…increased efforts short of armed conflict by expanding coercion to new fronts, violating principle of sovereignty, exploiting ambiguity, and deliberately blurring the lines between civil and military goals.” As confusing civil and military is what the United States itself has been doing in Libya, Iraq and, currently, Syria, the allegation might be considered ironic.

Sort of interesting in a tragi-comedy way…

US BACKED NEW SYRIAN ARMY SUFFERS CRIPPLING DEFEAT

“Prior to the offensive, the NSyA received new weapons and vehicles, including modern XM2010 sniper rifles from the US. As well, Coalition jets conducted an intensive leaflet-dropping propaganda campaign against the target region, while the NSyA publically stated its intention to attack.”

So, let’s recap how illegal this US imperial game actually is:

UN Charter, Article 2:

All Members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.

Arming terrorist armies inside another country is a war crime. Barack Obama and George Bush are war criminals. This is the real problem in the world today: unaccountable emperors who dump weapons and money onto their pet terrorists without threat of being arrested and punished. Their “allies” do most of the dirty work, and that leads to entities like ISIS. This is the greatest source of conflict in the world today. And it has purpose, strategy, although most people simply don’t understand what’s happening and are unqualified to form opinions about it–including a number of so-called “intellectuals” in academia.

Wake up.

To Defend Iran Deal, Obama Boasts That He’s Bombed Seven Countries

As commander-in-chief, I have not shied away from using force when necessary (like helping Libyan Jihadists linked to Al Qaeda?). I have ordered tens of thousands of young Americans into combat. …

I’ve ordered military action in seven countries.
-U.S. President Barack Obama

This used to be known as war crimes, belligerence, Nuremberg violations, Crimes Against the Peace, a breach of the UN Charter. It’s why the Nazis got a bad reputation. It was the invading and destroying other countries that started World War 2, and that is why war was outlawed after it, at the Nuremberg Tribunals. Those responsible for initiating wars of aggression were HANGED.

Pentagon Admits that War is Illegal

Washington is supplying some Syrian rebels with both “lethal and non-lethal” aid, according to National Security Adviser Susan Rice…

Three years and 160,000 dead later Obama decides to start dumping BILLIONS in more weapons on the Syrian insurgents.  The great peacemaker is just getting ramped up.  His Jihadi allies, armed through Saudi, Qatar Turkey and Libya have failed  (good), and so the US has thrown the pretense of law and treaties straight out the window.

“The US is “the single largest contributor of humanitarian assistance, providing over $1.7 billion” in assistance, Rice told CNN.”

Humanitarian.  Right. Like those humanitarian nerve gas bombs Al Nusra was using in its false flag attacks last year.  We’re all about humanitarianism while ramping up a bloody civil war so that Washington gets its way and topples a Russian ally on the Mediterranean.

US admits sending ‘lethal aid’ to Syrian rebels

Sorry Americans, you can’t be that fucking deluded and gullible.  The war is funded and armed from outside Syria.  It is an imperial project, a meat grinder allied with extremist Al Qaeda fanatics, who are conveniently ready to die fighting on America’s side this time.  Do the fucking math.

All Members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.

Turkey YouTube Ban: Full Transcript of Leaked Syria ‘War’ Conversation Between Erdogan Officials

The leaked call details Erdogan’s thoughts that an attack on Syria “must be seen as an opportunity for us [Turkey]”.

In the conversation, intelligence chief Fidan says that he will send four men from Syria to attack Turkey to “make up a cause of war”.

Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Yaşar Güler replies that Fidan’s projected actions are “a direct cause of war…what you’re going to do is a direct cause of war”.

Imperial hypocrisy enters the Bush League:

“Any violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty… would be deeply destabilizing.”
-Barack Obama (2014)

“Iraqis are sick of foreign people coming in their country and trying to destabilize their country. And we will help them rid Iraq of these killers.”
-George W. Bush (2004)

“We’ve invested $5 billion… as we take Ukraine into the future it deserves.”
