‘Empathetically Correct’ Is the New Politically Correct

A generation drowned in douche.  Their sensibilities insulated and protected from strange ideas that might challenge them.  Who will save the children from these discomforting words?

Yes, universities across our rapidly collapsing empire rush to rein in discomfort, as a few whiny little turds have complained vociferously enough to get their way. Everyone can enjoy the new “trigger warning” America, where texts that cause discomfort can be targeted and singled out.  These will be pressured out of schools in a more subtle process than bonfires in the quad.

Personally, that would make it easier for me to find the better books, but I doubt those that need to learn more about the world are going to see it that way.  We already have a nation of splintered fundamentalist groupings, extremist churches, religious insanity.  My own town is full up with so-called Christian nutjobs who wouldn’t recognize Jesus if he knocked on their front doors.

“Thousands of children warehoused in overcrowded orphanages and facilities for “feebleminded” children underwent spinal taps, lobotomies and electric shock. They were also exposed to viruses, radioactive and hazardous chemicals and were administered psychotropic drugs.”

“Often lacking legal or family advocates, they were treated in the decades after World War II as cheap and abundant raw material for trials that proved lucrative for scientists who conducted the tests and for the institutions housing the kids.”

These are serious fucking crimes that authority figures get away with, with impunity.  The film The Constant Gardener shows how the same experiments are now moved to Africa.

You know sometimes I don’t feel so strongly against the death penalty.

From Kindergarten to University: Homeland Security Culture in America

The official list[3] of 12 centers are overseen by the Orwellian “Office of University Programs” [4]. The “Strategic Objectives” of this office are quoted as follows:

•  Foster a homeland security culture within the academic community through research and educational programs.
• Strengthen U.S. scientific leadership in homeland security research.
• Generate and disseminate knowledge and technical advances to advance the homeland security mission.
• Integrate homeland security activities across agencies engaged in relevant academic research.
• Create and leverage intellectual capital and nurture a homeland security science and engineering workforce.

Notice, their admitted overall goal is not only to ‘disseminate knowledge’ and technical advances for the homeland security ‘mission’, but also to create a Homeland Security Culture within the educational system; [5], 6].
