Ebola nurse ‘made to feel like criminal’ on return to US

Kaci Hickox was placed in quarantine under a policy announced on Friday by New Jersey governor Chris Christie and New York governor Andrew Cuomo, which requires anyone flying into the states after having contact with Ebola sufferers in west Africa to be subject to mandatory isolation for 21 days

1st development: much-needed quarantine is now in place, but only in two states. That leaves 48 others where the disease can enter much more easily.

2nd development:

Hickox had sharp criticisms of the additional restrictions. She wrote: “This is not a situation I would wish on anyone, and I am scared for those who will follow me.”

Okay, it sucks to be quarantined for 3 weeks. You know what sucks more? Killing a few thousand innocent people because you were allowed to recklessly spread a highly contagious disease. I’m sorry for your inconvenience Ms. Hickox, but you volunteered to expose yourself to the most deadly contagion on the planet. It has already killed numerous doctors and nurses. That has been the main transmission pathway taking it across long distances.

Now I hope the authorities are not mistreating anyone, but the basic fact of quarantining is not cruel or unusual punishment. Quarantined people should be put up in nice accommodations and given access to communications and whatever luxuries make the stay comfortable. But they should not be allowed to risk the public’s safety after dealing directly with ebola patients. There’s no wiggle room here.

She is angry because she isn’t showing symptoms–yet. Well that’s how it works, and she above all should know that. If we are to contain this pandemic we need to take strong actions to prevent new people from becoming infected. Common sense, finally, after reckless incompetence has guided the policy for almost a year.

development 3: The government, Obama in particular, likes to hide behind the empty slogan “science.” The actual science has shown there’s a 12% chance that 21 days is not long enough. That crucial science is missing from pretty much all news coverage so far.

development 4:

US hospitals lack infection prevention personnel and resources to confront Ebola, survey shows

“Only 6 percent of US hospitals are well-prepared to receive a patient with the Ebola virus, according to a survey of infection prevention experts at US hospitals conducted Oct. 10-15.”

89% / 96%

SELF-RULE

Donetsk Region  … 89.07 percent voted ‘for’, 10.19 percent voted ‘against’ and 0.74 percent of ballots were rendered ineligible,”

In Lugansk Region 96.2 percent of voters supported the region’s self-rule, according to the final figures announced by the local election commission.

In Donetsk it reached 74.87%, while in Lugansk the central election commission says 75% of eligible voters came to the polling stations.

Referendum results in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions show landslide support for self-rule

Unfortunately Washington does not respect democracy, unless the results are in its “interests.”  Washington has always opposed democracy that it cannot control, and it has overthrown numerous democratically-elected governments around the world.

The reality in the streets of Ukraine is more neo-Nazi murder:

This follows the Odessa provocation and mass murder earlier this month.

The Boston bombing story has had so many anomalies and problems, that I doubt any honest person can claim to know what really went down last April.  WhoWhatWhy investigates the carjacking witness, “DANNY,” the sole source whose statements implicated Tamerlan and Dzhokar as not only the bombers but also allegedly the murderers of a police officer that night.

Read both parts to get introduced to new suspicious players.
